Anti-Bullying & Anti-Harassment Policy

1. Policy Statement

Emily Louisa | Sound & Yoga is committed to maintaining a learning and working environment free from all forms of bullying and harassment. We promote a culture of respect, diversity, and inclusion, where students, staff, and visitors can engage safely and professionally.

2. Definitions

2.1. Bullying: Repeated, intentional, or aggressive behaviour that causes harm, distress, or fear to another individual. This may include verbal, physical, or online/cyber actions.

2.2. Harassment: Unwelcome conduct, whether verbal, physical, or written, that creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment. Harassment may be based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or other protected characteristics.

3. Prohibited Behaviour

3.1. Bullying: All forms of bullying are strictly prohibited, including verbal taunts, threats, spreading rumours, exclusion, and cyberbullying.

3.2. Harassment: All forms of harassment are strictly prohibited, including unwanted advances, offensive comments, derogatory jokes, or any behaviour that creates a hostile environment.

4. Reporting & Procedures

4.1. Reporting Incidents: Students, staff, or visitors who experience or witness bullying or harassment should report the incident promptly to a designated staff member, instructor, or supervisor.

4.2. Confidentiality: All reports will be handled confidentially, with privacy maintained to the extent possible.

4.3. Investigation: All reports will be investigated promptly and impartially. Parties involved will have the opportunity to provide their perspective.

5. Consequences

5.1. Disciplinary Action: Verified cases of bullying or harassment may result in disciplinary measures, including warnings, suspension, expulsion, or termination, depending on the severity.

5.2. Support: Individuals affected by bullying or harassment will be offered support, which may include counselling or other appropriate resources.

6. Retaliation

Retaliation against anyone reporting bullying or harassment is strictly prohibited. Any retaliatory action will be treated as a separate violation and may result in disciplinary measures.

7. Training & Awareness

Emily Louisa | Sound & Yoga will provide training and awareness programs to ensure that all students and staff understand this policy, recognise bullying and harassment, and know how to report and respond to incidents.

8. Policy Review

This policy will be reviewed regularly and updated as necessary to reflect changes in legislation, best practice, or operational requirements.
